ROOTER RANGER - Got my plumbing fixed for $47 last night.

I felt compelled to write this because you just don't have good experiences in general with the service industry. Last night, while I was watching the NBA finals I noticed a smell in the house. At first I thought something died in the attic but when I walked into my bathroom, there was water in the shower drain and it stunk. In my second bathroom, there was also water in the bathtub. So I knew that the problem was house wide and that I wouldn't be able to fix this one.

I'm sure we all...

Tony Robbins a cult leader?

I just bought Awaken The Giant Within since it's always highly recommended and is also in the Fastlane Bookstore, and a friend said that Tony Robbins is a cult leader who shouldn't be anyone's "guru". He then proceeded to share this article.

Tin Foil Hat Time: Are Aliens Here?

I consider myself open minded and today I'm going to admit that I'm leaning toward the idea that aliens are here and have been visiting Earth ever since the first atomic bomb went off.

While I'm not radically entrenched in that belief (I'd say it fluctuates between 60/40 and 70/30 in favor of aliens are here) I am becoming more acclimatized to the idea. Five years ago I'd say my belief was 40/60, in favor of them NOT being here.

What do you guys think of lead generation or "digital real estate"?

An increase in inventory balances, a decrease in demand, and receivables are the reality of a business during a pandemic. One of the measures to support business is to increase the coverage of sales of finished products to other regions. Money Transmitter Licenses. Does Anyone Have Experience Becoming an Agent?

Obtaining a Money Transmitter License is no child's play. From what I gather, the more feasible and easier route (for starters) is to partner with a licensed company, as their agent.
I have spent some time searching for these online, but have only turned up a few potentials. I am trying to avoid partnering with a bank.

So does anyone have any experience with this? I'm trying to get a list of potential companies with streamlined partnership programs to operating under their license umbrella.

In case of emergency, buy red lipsticks.

One of my friends, working in beauty products company, just told me that from the beginning of the lockdowns women have been buying red lipsticks vigorously, which led to company running out of it. Last time when similar thing happened was in 2008 (take it into account that my country was also in war, in addition of global financial crisis).

  4. Develop branding, design and packaging
  5. Build a prototype box

Old man tries to start

I nearly refused to start an execution thread because of several reasons.
- i m 54 years old now, I have good slowlane job,
-with rising age my endurance with a business working decreases.
-I see my remaining time being endless,
- I have much fun living, working, making sports and I have good friends for drinking beer, too.
-because these reasons I want and will not spend 60 hours working and thats the reason, why I refused to make a such promise to me or others.

I paid my mentor £10,000

My business was stuck.
Annual turnover was stagnant.
I knew something was missing.

Then I heard a talk from an energetic, smiling, inspirational speaker that changed my life.
It all made sense.
Get the right mindset, the right product and the right strategy and you've got it made.

I was hooked on personal development events. Motivational hits every few weeks. I mixed with hundreds of youthful, dynamic souls eager to live the dream. I was finally in my element.

Every self-help book told...

How to price your product?

Hello dear Fastlane community,

I am building a little business that is supposed to sell food supplements. The supplement is sold as powder-capsules in 400ml plastic bottles. I've thought up the design of the bottles together with my wife and we love them, they're quality. The next step is to determine a price for the bottles.

This is a rough calculation of the cost for one bottle:

Should I quit?

Hi all,

I set up a sports nutrition company in 2015. I had never run, set up or even managed a company before doing this, and took the plunge after my F U Moment when on a '2 weak' (notice I didn't say week) family vacation in Portugal from my corporate Microsoft recruitment job.

I was doing great in my job, over 250k billings and managing a team of 4 to build and develop a new marketplace (at the time, it was MS Azure and cloud based technologies). I was working 7.45am - 7.30/8.30pm...

Do you think social proof makes a difference for facebook ads?

I'm curious about this, so my dropshipping store is doing crap in terms of profitability, my margins were to low to cover my costs. Even with a really high average order value it wasn't enough to save the campaign. So I raised the price and have had a few people buying a different price points. I now have a 2.5x markup. Does anyone here think if my facebook page has zero likes and same with the advertisements that it makes much of a difference?

Ask me anything about eCommerce (Ongoing)

Alot has changed since my Ask me about Ecommerce AMA from 2012, so I thought I'd do an updated AMA as some of the answers in the previous thread are now outdated. The online marketplace has shifted greatly in the past couple years. Some examples of what has changed:
  • Google Shopping is now at the top of your search results, so ranking #1 for a specific term is not as valuable as before. I don't do anymore SEO.

From 9-5 employed developer to freelancer and then entrepreneur - my journey

Hello, guys! My name is Ovidiu. I am 26 yo, living in Romania. I am currently employed as a developer. In my spare time, I built a portfolio for myself to attract clients for freelance work. I am sick of being employed. My goal right now is to quit my job, get freelance clients to build apps and websites, find a need in this market and then create a business around that need.

I would start a business right now, but I don't really have an idea and I...

Hi I am chronicling my challenge.

Background: I am a 35 yo entrepreneur in my 7th year of tech-hood, business are going well and expanding, and there is a chance we can be something bigger. Hey guys I'm new here. Freshly out of college and ready to get hustling! I have a CS degree so I'm more than well versed in building websites which might be a way to make some money quickly. The road to wealth is simple: Drive a crappy car

Very rarely do I agree with Marketwatch's personal finance tips but I agree with this one.

Early in my entrepreneurial journey, my lust for fast cars really set me back in many ways.
