How to Duplicate a Page in WordPress
I love WordPress and by far it’s my favorite CMS to create and rank websites online. However, how come I need to write a post on how to duplicate a page in WordPress?
What year is this? 2003?
The truth is I think at some point I had the need to duplicate a post and I simply tried copying and pasting everything into a new one and forgot about it.
However, after years of using WordPress since it’s 2.0 version I still find it hard to believe such a basic feature isn’t yet integrated on the software.
I can’t be the only person who needs to duplicate or clone a WordPress post or page, right?
Especially now that WordPress has had the Gutenberg Editor live for almost a year (and I finally gave in and disabled the classic editor) duplicating pages/posts is a feature I imagine a lot of people want as you can build and create custom pages with different designs according to your needs.
Professional builders (A.K.A. paid themes and builders) have this feature integrated into their portfolio, but if you’re using a basic WordPress theme without a builder besides Gutenberg you’re not going to get the option of cloning a post or page.
So after a quick Google search and doing it myself I wanted to create this tutorial for you guys based on what worked for me.
WordPress – Duplicate Page and Posts
The beauty of WordPress relays on being able to tap into a huge ecosystem of themes and plugins to do pretty much anything we want. And if for some reason there isn’t a plugin, you can always code it.
That also is WordPress’s biggest flaw, but we’ll leave that for another post. Let’s focus on how to quickly fix this issue.
Step 1 – Install a Plugin to duplicate pages
Yeah, you guessed it. Duplicating any post or page is as easy as downloading a Plugin to enable this functionality right in your WordPress Dashboard.
So go ahead and add a new plugin named “Duplicate Post” by searching it in your plugin’s dashboard like this:
Or you can also download and manually upload the plugin from the WordPress repository: Download Plugin here.
Note: as you can see, the plugin has been downloaded a measly 3 million times! I guess I wasn’t the only person trying to duplicate a Page.
Step 2 – Duplicate away!
Once you install and activate the plugin you’re ready to duplicate posts or pages. Just go to your Posts list and hover your mouse over the post you want to duplicate.
You will now see a “clone” option that wasn’t there before. Click it and you’re good to go!
By the way, this plugin also works for Posts, so you can now duplicate both Posts and Pages on your website with 1 click. Check this out:
Step 3 – Optional – Customize your cloning settings
If you use the duplicate function a lot you might want to customize the way your posts get duplicated a little bit to make things easier.
Go to your WordPress menu and in the “Settings“, you will find the “Duplicate Post” options for you to configure.
Here, you can edit the elements you want to duplicate from a post like Title, Date, Content, Categories, etc.
In case you just want to use other posts as templates for new posts but don’t need to duplicate things like the title or featured image you can uncheck those. You can also add prefixes and suffixes to your posts to avoid getting confused between them.
You can also customize things like who is allowed to duplicate posts (admins, editors, authors, etc.) and if you just want to be able to duplicate posts but not pages, that is an option as well.
A word about duplicated content
If organic traffic from search engines like Google is part of your marketing strategy, you want to avoid having duplicate content at all.
The idea of duplicating your pages or posts is to use the structure or formatting of the old posts to create a new one, with new content, images, etc.
Also, make sure you’re not naming your posts and slugs (URLs) the same as the original or you could get in trouble for having duplicated content in your own site.
I really hope this article helps you achieve what you are looking for as it helped me and if you have any questions please leave a comment below.

Digital Marketing Mythbusters: 7 Myths Debunked
Did you know the Great Wall of China actually isn’t visible from space? At least not to the naked eye.
Also: bats aren’t blind, Viking helmets didn’t have horns, and toilet water in the Southern hemisphere does NOT rotate the other direction.
We love busting myths.
So, in this article, we’re going to take 7 of the most commonly held beliefs about digital marketing and hold them up to the light.
And then, taking a cue from the show MythBusters, we’ll proclaim whether each one is BUSTED (yes, it’s a myth), PLAUSIBLE (there’s some truth to it), or CONFIRMED (totally true).
Ready? It’s gonna be fun.
Digital Marketing Myth #1: More Traffic = More Money
Want to get more sales? All you need to do is get more traffic to your website.
Right?
Welllll…not necessarily.
Don’t get us wrong. Here at DM, we love us some traffic (the website kind, not the car kind).
But, not all traffic is created equal, and remember—you can’t take any of it to the bank. For traffic to be valuable, it has to actually convert to leads and sales.
Realize that “traffic” is more than just a number on a dashboard. It’s a collection of living, breathing human beings with hopes, dreams, problems, and fears.
And to convince those people to convert on your website, you need to communicate the value of your product or service strongly and frequently enough that they’re persuaded to buy from you.
(Want to learn how to do that? Try our Customer Value Optimization system)
So, what’s the status of this myth? We’re going to go middle-of-the-road on this one and label it PLAUSIBLE, rather than “Busted,” for one simple reason: it’s kinda, sorta true-ish.
All other things being equal, and assuming the traffic is of high quality, then more traffic does mean more sales.
But the truth is that not all traffic is equally valuable. So, when you’re crafting your digital marketing strategy, you need to focus on the quality and quantity of traffic.
And that leads us nicely onto Myth #2…
Digital Marketing Myth #2: Your Ads Should Appeal to As Many People As Possible
This myth has a lot in common with Myth #1: More Traffic = More Money. The common thread between them is the idea that more = better.
A lot of marketers will take this mindset when creating a new ad, and try to make that ad appeal to the widest possible audience.
They assume more people means more potential customers, which means more sales—right?
Welllll…
The problem with this approach is that when you try to appeal to everybody, you end up having to water down your message so much that you don’t really appeal to anyone that strongly. As a result, your broad-appeal ad gets totally ignored.
(We know, we know. People can be so rude.)
So what should you do instead? Well, take a look at this ad:
This ad for a waterproof firestarter definitely does NOT appeal to the widest possible audience. There are millions upon millions of people in the world who could see this ad and not be the least bit interested.
But that’s OK, because this ad isn’t for them.
This ad works because it speaks to a very specific group of people—survival enthusiasts. It appeals to their hopes, dreams, and fears. So when they see this ad, it grabs their attention and compels them to convert.
And that’s why you should not try to make your ad appeal to the biggest possible audience. Instead, nail down your customer avatars, write an ad that appeals to those specific groups of people, and watch your conversions skyrocket.
That said, we’re going to declare Myth #2 BUSTED.
Digital Marketing Myth #3: Email Is Dead
Every few years or so, someone will declare that “Email Is Dead.” Most recently, it’s been the rise of Facebook Messenger ads that has sparked criticism of email and its declining engagement metrics.
And it’s true. Compared to Messenger ads, email does have low open and click-through rates. But that doesn’t mean email is dead—not by a long shot.
The click-through rates might be low, but email still generates sales. Lots and lots of ‘em.
(NOTE: Need a helping hand with your digital marketing efforts? Or maybe you just want proven, actionable marketing tools, tactics, and templates to implement in your business? Check out the latest deal from DigitalMarketer, and you will be on your way to helping your business grow.)
The DMA reported that for every $1 spent on email marketing, $38 is generated in revenue. That’s a pretty respectable ROI.
And according to Campaign Monitor, email is 40x more effective than Facebook or Twitter at generating new customers.
Plus, consider the fact that everyone and their momma uses email:
When you look at the data, it’s overwhelmingly obvious. Email isn’t dying…
It’s GROWING!
Just look at this chart from Statista. The number of emails sent and received is around 300 billion (with a B) annually, and still increasing every year:
People wouldn’t be sending hundreds of billions of emails a year if they didn’t work.
Safe to say we can call this myth officially BUSTED.
Digital Marketing Myth #4: All You Need Is 1 Great Ad (Or Campaign, Or Landing Page…)
A lot of marketers make the mistake of trying to hit a home run every time they go up to bat. They seem to think that if they can put together the exact right combination of words and pictures, it will result in a profitable campaign that basically prints money.
If only that were true.
The problem with this mindset is that it neglects to take into consideration the fact that becoming a customer isn’t a quick, one-time decision. Instead, there’s an 8-step process that people go through when making the ascension from “stranger” to “customer.”
We call it the Customer Value Journey.
When you understand this, then you can understand why you can never build a business on 1 great ad campaign. Because 1 campaign is almost never sufficient to take a person through the entire CVJ.
Instead, you’ll most likely need to create multiple campaigns to do that. Maybe you have a campaign that generates Awareness and Engagement. Then, another campaign that gets those people to Subscribe, and a third campaign that gets them to Convert.
And so on.
I think we can call it. Myth status: BUSTED.
Digital Marketing Myth #5: Retargeting Is Creepy
Depending on who you’re talking to, retargeting ads can be a divisive topic of conversation.
Some people shy away from retargeting because they’re afraid people might be creeped out by ads that “follow them around” on the Internet.
But are they really?
According to data from Wishpond, consumer reaction to retargeting ads is much more positive than negative:
Savvy digital marketers, on the other hand, LOVE retargeting.
Why?
Because it works.
It’s a fact: retargeting is one of the most efficient ways to bring people back to your site and turn more of your visitors into customers.
In that same report, Wishpond reveals that almost half of search engine marketing professionals consider retargeting to be the single most underused marketing channel:
Myth status? BUSTED. Totally busted.
Don’t be the marketer who misses out on the huge customer and revenue generating potential of retargeting ads. Set them up and watch your bottom line rise to the top.
Digital Marketing Myth #6: Content Is King
Unless this is your first time on the internet, you’ve almost certainly heard this phrase before: “Content is King.”
(And if it is your first time online, welcome! We’re so glad you chose DigitalMarketer for your first foray onto the interwebs.)
But is content still king? Or should the crown be handed off to someone else?
Haters will point out the fact that the supply of online content is rapidly exceeding the demand. For any question someone can type into Google, there’s already a wealth of relevant replies.
But this critique of content marketing misses the boat.
What you need to understand is that a true content marketing strategy includes much more than just blogging. Perfect content marketing is actually full-funnel.
That is, it helps lead your prospects from Awareness through Evaluation and all the way to Conversion.
(RELATED: How to develop a content marketing strategy)
When done right, content is what educates your prospects on what they need to know to fully appreciate the value of your product or service. And frankly, there’s no other way to provide this education; it has to be delivered through content—whether that’s a blog post, a video, a podcast, a lead magnet, a webinar, etc.
So when you look at it that way, content starts to look pretty freaking important. You might even call it absolutely essential for every company online.
Myth status on this one? CONFIRMED.
Content is, indeed, king.
Digital Marketing Myth #7: SEO Is All About Keywords
Once upon a time, in the early days of search engines, SEO was extremely straightforward. All you had to do was pick a keyword, then proceed to stuff that sucker onto your page as many times as it took to reach the first page of search results. And if you didn’t want it to look like you were keyword stuffing, you could just use hidden text (white text on a white background) with no penalty whatsoever.
Today, believe it or not, this approach actually does not work (actually…we really hope you don’t believe that).
And yet many marketers still treat SEO as if it’s all about the keywords.
Now, don’t get us wrong. Keywords are still important.
But if you want to win at SEO, you need to consider more than just the words people are typing into Google.
More specifically, you need to consider the intent behind the search. And make sure your page is written toward that intent.
(Click here to learn the solutions to more common SEO mistakes.)
Here’s the thing: Google’s one of the biggest companies in the world. And they kinda want to keep it that way. So, as a result they want to make sure people have a good experience whenever they perform a Google search.
In other words, they want their search results to give the searcher the thing they’re looking for.
So if the searcher is asking a question, your page needs to provide the answer.
If the searcher is trying to decide between multiple products, your page needs to give a helpful comparison.
If the searcher is looking for a product, your page needs to offer it.
The good news is, if you can make sure your page DOES provide what the searcher is looking for, then Google will see a low bounce rate when they click on your page—and reward you with better rankings.
Myth status: PLAUSIBLE. Keywords are still extremely important for SEO…but they’re only one piece of the puzzle. You have to consider many other things as well (like search intent).
What These Myths Have In Common
Most of the myths in this article were BUSTED, meaning that they weren’t actually true.
But just about every myth we’ve discussed has at least a seed of truth, which is where the myth came from in the first place.
And it pays to understand that.
For instance, take Myth #5. Retargeting is not creepy, if you do it right. But if people are seeing your retargeting ads 50 times a day for 6 months straight, that might start to get a little off-putting.
Or Myth #1: More traffic does not necessarily equal more sales. But more high-quality traffic almost always does.
Myth #3? Email isn’t dead by any means. But it’s getting more and more competitive every year, which is the real reason why open and click-through rates are dropping (And why it’s a good idea to leverage new platforms, like Messenger Ads, to stay ahead of the game as much as you can).
If there’s one thing we can say for sure about digital marketing, it’s that the landscape is always changing. What was true last year might just be a myth next year. So keep up with the latest in digital marketing by visiting your friendly neighborhood DigitalMarketer on a regular basis.

Seven Important Things I’ve Learnt from Eleven Years of Freelance Blogging
The post Seven Important Things I’ve Learnt from Eleven Years of Freelance Blogging appeared first on ProBlogger.
Have you ever thought of giving paid blogging a go?
Maybe you see it as a means to an end, or perhaps a handy way to make some extra money to support your own blog.
But paid blogging can also be a great way to super-charge your growth as a blogger. I’ve been a paid blogger for more than 11 years, and in that time I’ve learnt all sorts of useful things.
Getting a behind-the-scenes look at how dozens of blogs work introduced me to lots of tips and tools. And many of the things I’ve learnt over the past 11 years have been invaluable.
Here’s some of the top lessons I’ve learnt, both big and small.
Lesson #1: How to Keep Coming Up With Ideas
Some blogs assign me a list of posts to write. But others want me to come up with my own ideas.
If you think coming up with ideas for your own blog is tough, try coming up with ideas for half-a-dozen blogs belonging to other people.
But pitching ideas as a freelancer has definitely helped me get to grips with the idea-generation process. These days I have no problem sitting down and listing a whole bunch of ideas. And I’m pretty fast at evaluating which ones are workable and which ones aren’t.
Lesson #2: How to Meet Deadlines
Before I got into paid blogging, I was fairly good at meeting deadlines as a student. But the freelancing gigs I’ve undertaken have definitely honed my deadline-meeting skills.
The biggest tip I picked up here is to always allow an extra day or two. If I think I can have a post done by Thursday, I’ll promise to send it by the end of Friday. That way, if it all goes smoothly I can turn it in early. (Editors love this.) And if something unexpected crops up, I can still meet the deadline.
It’s amazing how often editors talk about writers not reliably meeting deadlines, or even blowing off assignments altogether. Being able to consistently hit deadlines can help you stand out as a great blogger to work with.
Lesson #3: How to Avoid Hitting “Publish” by Mistake
This is a small one. But trust me, it’s crucial.
If you’re working on a draft, or using a draft WordPress post to store notes for yourself or someone else you’re working with, the last thing you want is to accidentally make it live on your blog.
(Yes, you can unpublish a post. But it will have already gone out by RSS and potentially by email, depending on how you have everything set up.)
One of my editors had a brilliant hack for this: he set the date of the post for way in the future. That way, there’s no publish button – just a “schedule” button that won’t publish anything if it’s pressed accidentally. Genius!
Lesson #4: How to Adapt My Voice to Suit Different Blogs
I’ve written for dozens of blogs over the years. Some like chatty, breezy content. Some prefer a just-the-facts tone. And some like their writers to dig deep with personal anecdotes.
Writing for a range of sites – both under my own name and as a ghostwriter – has helped me learn to adapt my voice to what editors want.
It’s given me a greater understanding of nuance, and helped me shape my words more carefully. It’s also helped me think about how I naturally write versus how my ghostwriting clients might write or speak.
Lesson #5: How a Strong Editorial Process Makes a Huge Difference
One of the blogs I write for, Craft Your Content, has a fantastic editorial process. They coordinate everything through Trello cards. As soon as I pitch an idea they like, they create a card for it and assign it to me.
I write the first draft, and once that’s turned in a content editor does an overall edit of the post. I review the edits – often rewriting a few paragraphs or adding some new material based on the editor’s suggestions – and then the post gets assigned to a line editor. I review the edits again, and it’s passed to the proofreader. And then, after a final review from me, it’s ready to go.
I love this process. My posts are invariably stronger for it, which makes me look good. Plus, it’s really helpful to get this kind of detailed editorial feedback. It helps me see where my posts are flowing smoothly, and where I need to tweak things.
Lesson #6: How to Format Posts Consistently Across a Blog
Some blogs I write for have dozens of writers working for them. One has a detailed template for writing their “best of” posts that round up the top 25 or 50 products in a specific category. The template tells me, paragraph by paragraph (almost line by line), what to include.
It probably took a lot of time to come up with that template in the first place. And I’m sure the details have been tweaked and expanded over time to keep writers on track. But clearly using a template like this makes for a truly professional blog, with readers knowing exactly what to expect from each post.
All the little variations you might get with multiple writers (headings in sentence case instead of title case, using H3 for subheadings instead of H2, and so on) are ironed out by the template.
Other blogs I’ve worked with have style guides or checklists to follow. And they’ve all helped me realise just how useful templates and checklists are – even if you’re just writing for your own blog.
Lesson #7: How to Feel Comfortable Writing for Big Audiences
One fear some bloggers have is how people will react to their writing. What if their post gets some negative comments? What if someone sends a nasty email? The thought of having their work read by thousands of people seems daunting. And it can really hold them back from growing their blog.
As a freelancer, your work will inevitably go out to a fairly large audience. (A blog with a tiny audience wouldn’t be able to pay for it). And while it may feel a bit daunting to begin with, you’ll soon get used to your words being read by a lot of people.
And remember: if someone’s paying you and publishing your work on their site, it means your writing really is good enough.
If you’ve never considered paid blogging before, I hope you’ll give it some thought. I stumbled into it by accident 11 years ago, and I’ve never looked back.
Even if your main focus is your own blog, taking on a few paid blogging clients can help you learn and grow so much faster. You’ll quickly get used to working with and writing for sites much bigger than your own.
If you’re a paid blogger, I’d love to hear how long you’ve been writing for blogs (whether it’s a few weeks or a few years) and the lessons you’ve learnt along the way. Just pop a comment in below to tell us.

Too Personal?
Bottom Line Up Front: My childhood (birth to 18) was an absolute horror. I lived this dichotomy, where I grew up in small town farm country in the midwest, where everybody knew everybody (and their business), yet I, and my family, ostensibly lived a secret, hellish existence. In short, my father was very mentally ill, had some fairly bad brain damage, and was in a toxic marriage with my mother--combined they unleashed a state of...

Parking Lot Striping
So Painting parking lots, the "stalls" , the handicap marks, all that. So with this a lot of companies will just keep it in house (have the current maintenance people do it, or maybe in the case of a property management company make this a part of the job for core staff)
Needs to be done every 3 years, most don't keep up on it like that. You can run...

I'm Diogo Melo, a 24-year-old from Portugal.
As the title says my name is Diogo Melo, and I'm 24-year-old from Portugal.
I read TMF a few months ago, and I've been to the forum before, but never registered.
Today I decided to do so.
My interests are: football (soccer for U.S friends), reading and, of course, entrepreneurship.
I'm currently working a full-time job as a software developer, but I'm working on launching an e-Commerce store soon.
I hope to both learn and help the community.

From 0 To $240,000 Per Year PROFIT In 18 Months
I've been a follower of this forum for about a year now, had read the Millionaire Fastlane book, and finally have decided to tell my story. About a year and a half ago, I found myself unemployed and with near zero savings, two house payments, and a second baby on the way. Things were so dire that I was contemplating bankruptcy. I had just lost my slow-lane job with one of the original big three TV network companies. Worked there for about...

Allow me to introduce myself
I'm an Air Force veteran, 24 years old, and currently living in Phoenix, AZ.
At the moment, I am working for a big military contractor at Luke AFB and going to school for computer science.
So why am I here?
Well, while I'm making comfortable money with my job, I am still dissatisfied with life due to the lack of time, control, and most of all - purpose.
Earlier this month was my one-year anniversary of separating from the Air Force.
Naturally, I did some self-reflecting...

''Humanness'': Why giving Value Away For FREE is NOT What You Might Think It Is…
Our perceptions regarding the concept of ‘’value’’ have changed radically…
In the old days, the western aristocrats defined value as something you can extract from the land…
In fact - if you had bought wool from a sheep farmer, turned it into a hat and then sold it for a mark-up…
You’d be considered an exploiter.
Of course, our perception of value has...
