Sourcing products that other companies import

To keep it short, I am trying to find the best way to source a particular product from China. There's a wholesaler here in the US that sells this product but does a terrible job of marketing it and I don't want to purchase from them wholesale; I want to go right to the source and cut my COGS potentially in half.
