Here is my technique to read a book quickly and efficiently and take notes
Go directly to the summary and look at the most useful chapters.
Highlight with a pencil the useful sentences or words and note the page number on a sheet of paper to find your way back
Enter the chapters and short sentences or words into a mind mapping software
Advantages:
You will save a lot of time if you have to read several books or compare them.
